Last Rehabilitated Turtle Release of 2012!

 Join us for a sea turtle release! T-Puc, Possum, and Nacho will be released back to the wild on Thursday, November 8th, 2012. All 3 of these turtles were victims of plastic consumption, but they are feeling well and ready to go home!  We will conduct the release from American Diving's dolphin watch ship. A Turtle-Tastic 2012 (so far!)

2012 has been such a great year for Sea Turtle, Inc. so far! It is our 35th anniversary year & I think the first thing to be thankful for is no mass cold-strandings early in the year!  The nesting season was record breaking in so many ways. We had records in total nests, number of Kemp’s ridley and green nests, number of species in one year, number of eggs in one nest, and number of nests in one day! New Website!

Howdy folks! Welcome to Sea Turtle, Inc’s newly designed website! 2012 is our 35th anniversary year & we could not be happier with how its going!  Our nesting season was full of record breaking numbers of nests and species;  69 Kemp’s ridley, 2 Atlantic green, and 1 loggerhead nest.  We’ve also had record attendance coming through our facility for the summer months! Boudreaux, the Non-releasable Atlantic Green

On July 6, a juvenile Atlantic green sea turtle stranded at the Mansfield jetties. His front limbs were entangled in mono-filament line that was still attached to an old fishing rod. All that was left of his front right flipper was a bone fragment sticking out. He had already lost his back left flipper to a prior injury. Typically, sea turtles with less than 75% of their flippers are not released into the wild, therefore, Boudreaux is now our newest education sea turtle. Bon Voyage Scooter & Tex!

  On Monday, July 23rd, Scooter & Tex the Kemp's ridley sea turtles will be adopted out to the Phoenix Wildlife World Zoo    and Aquarium. They are both missing flippers due to predator attacks and are non-releasable turtles.
