Giving Tuesday

Have you heard of #GivingTuesday?
It's a new tradition. Following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, where we all shop for great deals as holiday gifts, Giving Tuesday is about giving back — anyway you can.

Giving Tuesday began in New York in 2012 and has since grown. We love the idea and would like to share the idea with you, too. Because, if it wasn't for giving and caring people like you, we wouldn't exist.

If you feel inspired by this new tradition, please consider supporting Sea Turtle, Inc. through a donation at Until Dec. 13, Paypal will donate an additional 1% if you donate through the paypal option.

In the last 12 months Sea Turtle, Inc. has rehabilitated and released over 250 sea turtles. This summer, we monitored 50 miles of South Texas beaches and protected over 20 Kemp's ridley sea turtle nests and had a 90 percent hatch rate. About 100,000 visitors have been able to meet our wonderful turtles and thousands of school children have learned how to help sea turtles and our environment during field trips to our center.

We have even grown our online presence and through social media shared our message about sea turtle conservation with hundreds of thousands of people.

All of this was accomplished because of a wonderful network of donors who support us — people like you. We operate with a small staff of employees and a large network of volunteers. One hundred percent of our funds comes from donations and gift shop profits. We do not receive any government funding.

Please consider participating in Giving Tuesday, even it doesn't involve our sea turtles.

Please feel free to use this photo to share on your Facebook or other social media pages! And if you tweet use #GivingTuesday or #Unselfie!
