University of California- Davis

Hey everyone! My name is Chris Gorman and I’m from Novato, CA. I graduated with a B.S. in Evolution, Ecology, and Biodiversity from UC Davis. I’ve always had a passion for working with wild animals and knew from a young age that I would follow my dream to make it a career. Crocodiles have always been my favorite animal (Steve Irwin was my hero growing up), but I am a huge fan of every kind of animal out there! My favorite summer was 2016 when I worked at the Oakland Zoo as the commissary/night keeper intern. I worked with some truly amazing animals including baboons, elephants, tigers, tortoises, sun bears, and giraffes, as well as many other species. The past two fall seasons were spent working for Ducks Unlimited out in the Sacramento Valley helping study the effects of post-harvest treatments on the food supply for migrating waterfowl. In my spare time, I love adventuring to new places, playing various sports, spending Saturdays with the boys, and enjoying a beach lifestyle! Working for Sea Turtle Inc. is a dream come true and I can’t wait to have some amazing experiences on South Padre Island!
