What to expect to see on your visit

Educational presentations are offered throughout the day. These "Turtle Talks" teach the public about the mission of Sea Turtle, Inc. and the species of sea turtles found in the area. Depending on the time of year and the number of visitors present, a Sea Turtle, Inc. staff member will present to you in one of two ways.

If there is a large number of visitors present, the talk will be in our outdoor amphitheater. If there is a small number of visitors, then the staff may be able to lead a tour around our tanks as a group.

Visitors are also able do a self-guided tour of our outdoor facility. Along our walls are many educational displays and one can spend quite some time reading about the turtles and watching our patients and residents play in the pools. We even have a scavenger hunt to participate in, if you wish.

** During the winter months, if the temperature is below 55 degrees Fahrenheit, our outdoor tanks will be covered in order to maintain the necessary water temperature for the turtles. The Education Complex will be open which includes our indoor museum displays, resident tanks, and giftshop.

Weekly Schedule of Events

Starting on August 16th!

• One on one with Allison's lifeguard. While Allison is wearing her prosthesis from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., a life guard sits by her pool and can answer any questions or tell you her story.

• "Turtle Talks" are about 20 to 30 minutes long. The first one of the day begins at 10:30am. Schedule varies, please call for daily times.

Turtle Enrichment. We provide an enrichment feeding at 3 p.m. This is a great opportunity to see how we provide challenges to the turtles to mimic some of their natural behaviors. Enrichment helps stimulate their minds and practice important skills they need to successfully return to the wild.
